Following on-campus events, there will be an evening march to the Old County Courthouse beginning at 7pm. This will culminate in the establishment of a one night-only inter-occupy group Occupation and Encampment at the Old Courthouse.
This will not be a permanent encampment, but a way for all of us to create fellowship and solidarity while continuing to plan for the future we seek. The encampment will be politically motivated and a good neighbor policy will be maintained and ensured. NO violence, drunkenness, inebriation, alcohol, Cannabis, or other drug use will be tolerated in the encampment. People violating these rules will be asked to leave the encampment. There will be zero tolerance. An inter-occupy security force will be created and dispatched to end any violations of this rule.
The University has requested that attendance be by RSVP as only 342 people can participate in the CU hosted events. However, the march and evening encampment will be open to all. Potential overflow events are possible, but difficult due to University restrictions.
Invitations have been sent to all Occupy Groups statewide (and some out-of-state) to participate, bring tents, bring ideas, bring voices and concerns. The encampment will be suspended on Sunday as the Occupiers return to their hometowns enriched by the experience.
Please RSVP here to Attend the Statewide Conference
Occupy CU is asking for volunteers to help co-ordinate and run the actual event. We need folks comfortable with running electronics, greeting and directing, welcoming, driving (if needed), bus coordinators, and logistics. We’ll also need people to help promote the event, from fliers to interviewees for radio/tv/newspapers.
If you can help the Inter-Occupy effort in any way or would like to assist with planning please contactLeebu_99@yahoo.com
